As a mother and daughter business, Carin’s Jewellery Design was established during 1989 as a small vendor of silver jewellery in Bloemfontein. We broadened our jewellery range by attending International jewellery Fairs in Thailand and Hong Kong and started importing our own collection of jewellery in 1992 from several countries in the East. The result was a unique range of gold, silver and pearl jewellery at more competitive prices.
Today, Carin’s Jewellery Design operates as a jewellery retailer, designer and manufacturer, under the leadership of Carin Jansen van Vuuren.

Carin
-Owner and Founder-
Carin is the owner and founder of Carin’s Jewellery Design. While being a boss isn’t always easy, her warm personality, goal-driven attitude, innovative ideas, and strong business acumen have been key to her success. Carin’s passion for the jewellery industry ignited at the age of 27 while she was pursuing a PhD in Microbiology at the University of the Free State. After attending a jewellery exhibition in Cape Town, she made the bold decision to trade her career in science for the world of business, and never looked back.
Lize
-Manager of Nelspruit Branch/Accounting/ Media and Marketing-
Lize joined the Carin’s Jewellery Design team in early 2018, after completing her B.Eng in Chemical Engineering at the University of Stellenbosch. With a passion for business, technology, and creativity, Lize made the decision to leave the engineering world behind and pursue a career in the jewellery industry, following in her mother’s footsteps.
Deeply passionate about femininity, elegance, and beauty, Lize strives to infuse these qualities into her photography, marketing, and media strategies, ensuring they are reflected in every aspect of the brand.
Jeanne
-Manufacturing Manager / Jewellery Designer / Goldsmith-
Jeanne is the designer and goldsmith at Carin’s Jewellery Design, serving as the go-to expert for all design and technical queries. After completing her studies in Art and an apprenticeship at Francarlo Designer Goldsmith, she began following her passion for designing and crafting exquisite jewellery pieces. With years of experience under her belt, we are thrilled to have Jeanne as part of the team and are proud to have appointed her as the manager of the manufacturing department.
Sue
-Head Sales Consultant /Jewellery Repairs-
Sue joined the CJD team in 2021 were she works as our head as sales consultant. She is our go-to expert for sales, jewellery repairs, and maintenance. With a keen eye for detail and a creative flair, Sue is the perfect person to help you select stunning accessories or put together a beautiful gift.
